Terms of sale

The rules of every Submitium order: what we do, what it costs, and what happens when a directory can't be submitted.

Version 2026-10-18 · Last updated October 21, 2026

The short version

  • Submitium is a service for businesses only.
  • You pay per directory: $0.99 each, $0.84 from the 51st and $0.74 from the 101st. A project's first order holds at least 30 directories, each later order at least 10. No VAT is charged.
  • We submit by hand within 48 business hours once your badge wall is live and your listing is complete, or by the later date shown before you pay when our queue is full.
  • Each directory decides whether, when and how it lists you. We guarantee the work, not the approval.
  • If a directory you paid for can't be submitted for a reason that isn't yours, you get a credit for another directory. Credits don't expire. Card refunds are not automatic.

1. About these terms

These terms of sale apply to every use of submitium.com and to every order placed on it. They form the contract between you, the customer, and Submitium (“Submitium”, “we”). Our full details are in the legal notice.

You accept these terms when you place an order: the checkout asks you to, and we record the version you accepted (this one is version 2026-10-18) and when. They prevail over any terms of your own. The version in force when you place an order governs that order.

2. Business customers only

Submitium sells to businesses: companies, sole traders, freelancers and other professionals acting for the purposes of their trade, business, craft or profession. By creating an account or ordering, you confirm that you act in that capacity and that you are authorised to commit the business you order for.

Because we do not sell to consumers, consumer-protection rules, including the 14-day right of withdrawal of the French Consumer Code, do not apply to our orders. If you are a consumer, please do not order.

3. What Submitium does

Submitium submits your product, by hand, to the online directories you pick from our catalog, and follows each submission until the listing is live or closed. Our catalog only holds directories that, when we checked them, listed products for free in exchange for their badge on the product's site and gave a dofollow link. We check them by hand and keep checking that they are online, but directories can change their rules at any time (see section 12).

For each order, we:

  • fill in and send each directory's submission form with your listing, and keep proof of it;
  • give you a badge wall that shows the badges the directories ask for, kept up to date by us;
  • track each submission (submitted, in review, scheduled, live, rejected…) and tell you when something changes or needs you.

We do not guarantee that a directory accepts or publishes your product, how long it takes, or any effect of a listing on your search rankings, Domain Rating, traffic or sales. We never pay directories, and we do not sell paid listings.

4. Your account

You need an account to order. Give us a valid email address and keep your password to yourself: you are responsible for what is done with your account, and you must tell us at once at [email protected] if you think someone else has used it. We may ask you to confirm your email address; some emails, such as reminders, are only sent to confirmed addresses.

5. Your project and listing

Each product you submit is a project. Its listing profile holds what directories ask for: the product's name, descriptions, logo, screenshots, categories, links and, for directories that publish one, a maker profile. You are responsible for this information being accurate, lawful and yours to use (see section 17). We may adapt it to each directory's form, for example by shortening a description to its length limit or choosing the closest category.

What you authorise us to do

For the directories you order, you authorise us, in your product's name, to:

  • fill in and send their submission forms with your listing profile;
  • create and manage an account for your product where a directory requires one, using an email address we manage for that purpose;
  • confirm the emails they send about the submission and answer their questions about it.

We use these accounts only for your submissions and their follow-up. When a directory asks for something only you can give (an extra detail, a confirmation from you, a verification), we tell you in your dashboard and by email. We cannot complete that submission without it.

Changes to your listing

You complete your listing profile before you pay: it is what we send to every directory of your order. From the payment until every directory of the order is submitted, the listing is locked, so each directory receives the same information. A listing we have submitted is then in the hands of the directory that publishes it: we do not edit it or submit it again. Once the order is submitted, you can change your listing profile, and the change applies to the directories you order afterwards. To update a listing a directory has already published, contact that directory.

6. Reading your site

When you add a product, you ask us to fetch the pages of its site and use automated tools, including an AI model, to draft your listing profile. The draft can contain mistakes: you check and complete it before you pay, as you remain responsible for what is submitted. To keep the service fair, we limit how many projects and site readings an account can start each day.

7. The badge wall

The directories we sell list you for free only while their badge is on your site. The badge wall gathers those badges in one block that we keep up to date.

  • You install it once, on your site's homepage, with our package and your project's API key (Next.js, Nuxt, SvelteKit, Astro). The badges must be in the page's HTML as your server sends it, because directories check for them without running scripts. Keep your API key secret; you can revoke it at any time.
  • The badge wall goes on your site before you pay. Our check confirms it is there, or one of our operators does when our check cannot see it; the checkout opens then.
  • Keep the badge wall in place. A directory may remove your listing, or its dofollow link, if its badge disappears. No credit is given for a listing lost this way.
  • The badge wall shows a small “Badge wall by Submitium” link. It is dofollow by default; you can switch it to nofollow in your project settings.
  • Its content comes from our servers, and we may update it to add, remove or change badges as directories require. If our servers cannot be reached, your page keeps working but the badge wall may stay empty until they are back. Badge images are loaded from each directory's own servers, as their programmes require.

You may install the badge wall on your projects' sites for as long as you have an account. Do not alter it to hide or misrepresent a badge.

8. Prices and payment

Prices are in US dollars. Each directory costs, by its position in the project: the directories already paid in the project's earlier orders come first, so a later order continues where the last one stopped.

  • $0.99 for the 1st to the 50th directory;
  • $0.84 for the 51st to the 100th;
  • $0.74 from the 101st on.

A project's first order, paid or granted by us, must hold at least 30 directories. Each later order for the same project must hold at least 10, unless it only uses directory credits (section 13). One order holds at most 300 directories. Directories covered by a credit cost $0 (section 13): credits cover the first directories of the order, and the volume prices above still count every directory in it. A directory we couldn't submit doesn't count toward a later order's position: its credit counts where it's used.

The total and the date by which we commit to submit are shown before you pay. We may change our prices at any time; an order keeps the price shown when it was placed.

Payment is taken in full when you order, through our payment provider Stripe, by card or by the wallets Stripe offers. Stripe may show the amount converted into your currency: the amount and currency on the Stripe payment page are what is charged, and your bank may add its own fees. We never see or store your card number. Work starts once the payment is confirmed. An order fully covered by credits needs no payment and starts the same way.

9. Invoices and taxes

Every payment comes with an invoice issued through Stripe and sent to you by email. It is also available in your billing settings. The checkout collects the billing name and address it needs, and lets you add a tax ID.

TVA non applicable, art. 293 B du CGI: as a business under the French VAT franchise, we charge no VAT, and our prices are final. If the law of your country requires you to account for VAT or another tax on services bought from abroad (for example through the reverse-charge mechanism), you do so yourself.

Payment is due when you order. Any amount not paid when due bears late-payment penalties at three times the French legal interest rate, plus a fixed recovery fee of €40 (articles L441-10 and D441-5 of the French Commercial Code). No discount is given for early payment.

10. When we submit

We submit every directory of an order within 48 business hours (Monday to Friday, UTC) of its payment: your listing profile and your badge wall are ready before you pay, so the time counts from the payment. For an order placed before they were ready (for example directories we granted), it counts from the moment both are.

This time depends on our operators' capacity. When our queue holds more than they can submit in 48 business hours, the date we commit to is later, and the checkout shows it before you pay. If we cannot meet a date, we tell you.

“Submitted” means our operator has filled in and sent the directory's form. It does not mean that the directory has published your listing: that is up to the directory (section 12).

11. Tracking and reports

We follow each submission until its listing is live, for up to 90 days after we submit it: every 3 hours for the first 48 hours, every 6 hours until day 7, once a day until day 30, then once a week until day 90. We read the emails directories send to your project's inbox, check their pages, and an operator checks by hand when a listing takes twice as long as the directory usually needs. After 90 days we stop looking: the directory may still publish the listing later, without it showing in your dashboard. Statuses are our best reading of these signals: they can lag behind the directory or, rarely, be wrong, and we correct them when we find out. Each submission keeps its proof, such as screenshots of the filled form and of the confirmation, in your dashboard.

Once a listing is live, we check its link six times over the next 90 days: after a day, a week, two weeks, a month, two months and three months. If the link disappears or turns nofollow in that time, we check again the next day before telling you, and if the listing is gone we submit it again once, at no cost. During those 90 days we also check that your badge wall is still on your site. After that we stop checking: the listing belongs to the directory, which can change or remove it at any time.

You can share a read-only report of a project through a link. Anyone with the link sees the project's submissions, their statuses and listing links, but not the proof screenshots. You can reset the link at any time, which disables the old one.

12. Directories decide

Directories are independent websites. Each one decides whether to accept your product, when to publish it, what the listing says, and whether to keep it. A directory may also change its badge programme, its link policy or its prices, go offline or close. We are not responsible for these decisions, and Submitium is not affiliated with the directories in its catalog.

When a directory declines your product for its own reasons (its editorial choices, your product's category, a listing it does not want), the submission is done and no credit is due. When something on our side or outside your control stops the submission, you get a credit (section 13).

13. Directory credits

When a directory you paid for cannot be submitted for a reason that is not yours, we give your project one credit for it. This happens when we skip the directory, when it has become unavailable or has closed, when you turn out to be listed on it already, or when it refuses the submission because of something on our side.

  • One credit pays for one directory.
  • It stays on the project the directory was ordered for, and it does not expire.
  • It can be used on any directory we sell that has not already been ordered for that project.
  • Credits are applied first at your next order for the project: each directory a credit covers costs $0, and an order covered entirely by credits needs no payment.
  • We email you when a credit is granted, and your dashboard shows the credits you have.
  • We may also replace the directory right away with another directory from our catalog, using that credit. Your dashboard shows the change.

Credits have no cash value. They cannot be exchanged for money, moved to another project or account, or sold, and they lapse when the project or the account is closed.

14. Refunds

A directory that cannot be submitted gives you a credit (section 13), not a refund to your card. Apart from that, payments are final. We may refund a payment in full or in part in other cases, at our discretion. If we cannot perform an order at all for a reason on our side (for example because we stop the service), we refund the directories we have not submitted. Refunds go back to the payment method you used, through Stripe, and appear on your billing page.

If a charge looks wrong, please write to [email protected] before opening a dispute with your bank: we answer quickly. While a payment dispute is open, we may pause the work on the order concerned.

15. What we ask of you

  • Submit only products you own or are authorised to promote, and keep your listing information true.
  • Don't use Submitium for products or content that are unlawful, deceptive or harmful, that infringe someone else's rights, or that directories would not accept (for example malware, counterfeits, adult content or gambling).
  • Don't misuse the service: no attempts to break, overload or get around its limits or its security.
  • Answer the requests your dashboard shows when a directory needs something only you can give.

We may refuse or stop working on a project that breaks these rules. If we refuse a project before submitting anything, we refund its order.

16. Emails

We send the emails the service needs: account emails, receipts and invoices, credits, status changes and requests for action. Reminders, such as an unfinished order or a badge wall not yet installed, go only to confirmed addresses and can be turned off in one click. You choose which notifications you receive in your account settings.

17. Intellectual property

You keep every right in your content (texts, logos, screenshots, photos). You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce and adapt it for as long as we provide the service and follow your listings, and to pass it to the directories you order, which publish it under their own terms. You confirm that you hold the rights this requires, including the consent of any person whose name or photo appears in your listing. We do not use your product's name or logo in our marketing without your permission.

Submitium, its website, software and badge wall code remain ours. These terms give you the right to use them for your projects, and nothing more.

18. Liability

We perform the service with care and skill; our commitment is one of means (obligation de moyens), not of results. We are not liable for:

  • the decisions, delays, changes, outages or closure of directories;
  • the effect of listings on your search rankings, Domain Rating, traffic or sales;
  • the content you provide, or listings lost because the badge wall was removed;
  • indirect losses, such as lost profit, lost business, lost data or harm to reputation.

Our total liability for an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. These limits do not apply to fraud, gross negligence (faute lourde), wilful misconduct, or anything the law does not allow us to limit. We aim to keep the service available at all times but do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted.

19. Force majeure

Neither of us is liable for a failure caused by an event beyond its control within the meaning of article 1218 of the French Civil Code. The obligations affected are suspended while the event lasts.

20. Suspension and closing

There is no subscription: you can stop using Submitium whenever you like. To close your account, write to [email protected]. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, after notice unless the breach is serious or urgent (fraud, abuse, unlawful content).

Submissions already sent stay sent. We cannot withdraw a listing a directory has published, but we will help you ask the directory to remove it.

21. Personal data

We process personal data as our privacy policy explains. For the personal data you put in your listing profile (for example a maker's name and photo), you are responsible for having the right to share it, knowing that directories publish it. Questions about your data go to [email protected].

22. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; each version carries its date. An order stays governed by the version accepted when it was placed. We tell account holders by email about changes that matter to them before they apply.

23. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by French law. If a disagreement arises, write to us first and we will look for an amicable solution within 30 days. Failing that, and to the extent the law allows, the courts with jurisdiction over our registered address have exclusive jurisdiction.

24. Contact

Questions about these terms or an order: [email protected].
